A Note From Kim: Stepping out
Business Systemizing Tip: Sill Struggling To Create Systems In Your Business?
Feature Article: A Simple Project Management System
I'm starting an exciting new consulting project on Monday that will see me working helping a company to roll out a new piece of software that will form the 'backbone" of their business, allowing their customers easier access to services. Projects like this really excite me as this will really make an impact as to how this company not only moves forward in the future, but also how they develop and grow their business to experience better profits and freedom.
Its made me think about what the "core" or the "backbone" of my business is, and how that will facilitate me to achieve what I want. I've come to the conclusion that there is more work to do in that area, because after all, while an employees work may be done at 5pm each day, an entrepreneur's work is all play! I'd love to hear how you recognize what the "core" of your business is and how you stay true to it! Be sure to leave a comment below!

This last few weeks has been a series of endings and beginnings for me. I have finished up working with some really great clients as they are now able to manage their systems and business much more efficiently, and new beginnings as I start work with some new clients, and launch the Process Makeover DRIVE System. Its all very exciting and this weekend before it all gets into full swing, I'm getting back to nature with a bush walk up to one of South East Queensland's most beautiful lookouts.

Feature Article: Simple Systems To Make You A Better Leader in Your Business
I'm so excited this week because I have discovered a new tool that has really had a big impact on my business. I have discovered a free flowcharting software that has allowed me to create simple flowcharts that my team can use, which means I can hand over some of my marketing tasks, and customer related activities, allowing me to focus on getting new business and working with my coaching clients. If you would like to check out this fabulous free software click here.
On a personal note, this week has seen me "decluttering and clearing out". I have just loved the feeling of just having what I need and not having all those things around me that I was going to get to eventually. Now I just have at my fingertips what I need – everything else has been retired:-) Clear Desk, Clear Mind! Its worked for me this week!
To get your business to where you want it to be you simply must be a good leader. You can’t be caught up in all of the day to day activities when you need to be driving your business forward, building it, strengthening it and creating solid foundations that will eventually allow you to extract yourself from it altogether, or to sell it for a handsome profit. Over the years I have seen some great examples of leadership, as well as some not so great examples that left employees directionless, deflated, and without any desire to even see the business succeed. They were there for one reason only – to do their time and get their money. Read More→

Feature Article: Creating Business Systems – The Master Apprentice Approach
Hello and welcome to another week!
Hope this edition of the Systems Insider finds you well and enjoying your business. In the last month or so, I have been re-evaluating a few things and one of the things of I have decided is that I'm not going to do things that I don't enjoy anymore. Part of this has also been that I have wanted to get back to the basics, and to not have to feel like superwoman and a jack of all trades, with 101 different stresses and pressures – all self imposed of course! If you really want to own a business that gives you the freedom that you want, eventually you have to let go of the daily work to concentrate on the business itself. How can you successfully train others? Well, this is where the Master/Apprentice approach to training comes in.
It works like this. You are the master, and your employees are your apprentices who you must teach to do things YOUR way. You may have even tried this in the past – you showed employees what to you but they just didn’t care the way you do. Remember that it took you time to learn your craft and most likely you started as an apprentice. Someone else taught you to do what you do so well. Read More→
KPI’s are important because they allow you to measure the things that matter in your business, and the things that matter are how many customers you’re getting, how many are staying, how much they actually buy, and how frequently they buy and how much profit you are able to make in the process.
So knowing what your KPI’s are and better still, actually measuring them on a regular basis is something that will make your business stand out, because customers will notice your efficient, streamlined and systemised way of doing business and they will love that they can shop with you and know exactly how they will be treated, the kind of service they’ll get, the follow up support that will be offered, that they won’t be forgotten about. In short, they will become a raving fan! Read More→

Feature Article: What Is Your Time Worth To You?
2 Weeks ago I decided to put myself onto a "health and fitness regime". Part of this was that I said I would exercise intensely for one hour, five days per week, and write down every single thing I ate. I have actually tried to keep a food diary many, many times before, and have never really succeeded, but this time, I have kept it up and I'm surprised to see the results, good and bad! YES, I have wrote down all the bad things I have eaten as well, and its made me realise that whilst I though my diet was fairly good, I fall down in the snacking area – way too many snacks! No wonder my energy levels are not what they used to be!
Also, I have to say, its amazing how training with a heart rate monitor on (you know the ones you strap round your chest, with the watch transmitter) makes you so much more motivated! In times of instant gratification and where we all want it now and even then now is still sometimes to late, I love training with my heart rate monitor on and I find I look forward to it much more than in the past because I get instant results from my heart rate monitor telling me how many calories have burnt. I love it! It somehow makes it all worthwhile!

Happy Easter and I hope that you and your families take a well deserved break over this time. I know I will be. See, there is something that my mentor told me recently, and its really stuck with me because its such a turn on traditional thinking from when I was working in a 9 to 5 job. And it's this – As entrepreneurs we are constantly "on" using up energy, passion and enthusiasm, that often its really hard to totally disconnect to recharge your batteries. When I was working on my corporate job, I remember looking forward to my annual leave every year, and not giving my work a second thought the moment I walked out the door. Read More→

Ask everyone of your customers for a referral next week. When you're in contact with customers face to face or even over the phone, always ask for referrals. Give them an incentive to refer you. This will ensure a consistently growing list of quality customers that will expand your customer base. Remember, don't ask, don't get! After someone gives you a referral, send a thank you note and a gift as appreciation of their help. Read More→
