Getting Your Mind Into Gear For Systemizing Your Business
When it comes to systemizing your business, your mindset can be your greatest enemy. Because, when you really think about it, systemizing your business, isn't only about creating systems. In fact that is only a very minor part of it. Systemizing your business is about change. Like it or loathe it, change is what it takes to move to a new way of working, a simplified, streamlined and systemized way of operating.
Saying that you want to systemize your business is all good and well, and its quite likely that you can break your business down into a set of systems, processes, tasks and activities, but it's not where you should be starting. You need to start with yourself.
You need to be ready and willing put yourself out there, to get uncomfortable and to push your boundaries. Systemizing your business so that it really can operate without you being there takes commitment and dedication , and whilst you don't necessarily have to do all the work yourself you do have to be open to the fact that your customers may be just as happy being looked after as someone else, or that another team member may actually be able to do something better than you, particularly if it's not your strength.
One of the best ways to shift your mindset is to work out why you want to systemize your business. To systemize your business, you need to create a big enough reason. Most people struggle to really systemize their business, because there's not a big enough push for them to do so. For me, I want to systemize my business so that I can create leverage, and passive income. I want to be able to do things once and get paid over and over. I want to be able to do the work once and then milk it for all its worth buy turning it into other mediums, packaging it up in different ways that cater to different parts of my target market. If I can't do this, then my fear is that I will get caught up back in the corporate rat race. So, what's you big push for systemizing your business.
You are the person who holds the key to your business freedom, therefore the choices and decisions that you make will contribute what happens in your business. Having the right mindset and systemizing your business is about making conscious decisions that will take you step by step towards your goal.
Systemizing your business is one of personal transformation as you learn more about yourself, they type of person you are, what you're good at, what you're not so good at. It will require you to take a good look at why you do what you do and how you can start doing things differently. Systemizing your business will dig deep into some very fundamental questions that you might not be ready to deal with.
By accepting that things MUST change if you are to truly have the business you've always wanted, you are already leaps ahead of those who randomly implement processes and then weeks later revert back to old ways of working, and bad habits.
Your mindset is your secret weapon in systemizing your business and if you allow it to, not only will you systemize your business much faster, customers, clients, employees, suppliers contractors, even competitors will seek you out because your business will become known for its efficient, consistent and predictable way of operating.
