I recently attended a Workshop in Sydney Australia recently, put on by my friend and mentor Janet Beckers of Wonderful Web Women, and one of the increadible learnings I got from that workshop is that you must define your busines avatar before you do anything else. It sounds simple I know, but oftentimes until you hear someone else talk about it it doesn't really click, even if you think you have it nailed!
Your business avatar is basically your ideal customer. Knowing this critical peice of information can save you so much time and energy and can literally save you from creating products and services no-one wants to buy. Janet has a great blog post she has written on the subject and it may just help you to clarify your business avatar as well! There's no optin, or signing up, just valuable content. You can check it out here.

Most business owners shoot for MORE - more sales, more jobs, mosre customers, more profit and more of the same.
More is the "Un-Target". To know what you really need MORE of, you need a plan, and the first thing on that plan should be identifing what your ideal business should look like so you can start creating systems, structure and processes to support you getting there!

I recently interviewed Michele PW, known as the Ka Ching Marketing Strategist on a system she has recently developed in conjunction with Shannon Cherry, the Power Publicist. The system they have developed is the Complete Online/Offline Marketing System. After interviewing Michele about this system, I was so impresssed, I knew I just had to get my hands on it.
So, I've been using it now for a couple of months and I think it is absolutely great. I don't have to put in too much time thinking about how I can maintain a regular marketing schedule and presence because it is all contained in the system with all the steps, checklists, templates and other resources. If you have been getting inconsistent results with your marketing, you need to do yourself a favour and check out the Complete Online/Offline Marketing System.

I'm so excited about a great new FREE report I have been working on over the last couple weeks. Its turned out to be even better than I expected, and has hit the 50 page mark. But there are still some final touches left to make and I want to make sure it is 100% pure valuable content. I can't reveal too much at the moment but the report contains all the dirt you need to take your business from where you currently are to where you want to ideally be, and to separate the employee in you from the owner in you. The philosophy behind the report is to help you to boost your business so that you can more effectively drive it forward!
As a valued subscriber you will be first to get your hands on this hot of the press report – its not rehashed content, and you won't find it anywhere else!

Understanding Business Mechanics Will Improve Your Processes, Grow Your Business, And Get You More Profits!
Have you ever wondered why some businesses just seem to effortlessly sail through hiccups, roadblocks and even storms? Here's the secret – they have a Masters in Business Mechanics. They have become so adept at understanding the intracacies of how their business operates, with out seemingly even being there. How do they do it? How have they gone from moving their current business to their ideal business and from taking the employee out of them and replacing it with the owner in them.
Essentially they have transitioned from being operational and tactical "doers" to entrepreneurial "thinkers" who lead the way for their business to grow and prosper. I'm going to outline a process for you that will take your business from its current state of chaos, inconsistency and unpredictability to a state of control, calm and order. Its called the "5 Step Situation Reframe Technique".
Step 1: Understand why you do what you do on a daily basis and what drives you to do it. This is essential to really understanding the link between what you currently do and whether or not it is in alignment with you overarching business purpose.
Step 2: Once you know why you do what you do, identify your top 5 frustrations that continue to annoy you on a daily basis. This will help you to get a picture of where the “leaks” and “squeaky wheels” are in your business.
Step 3: Prioritize and rank your top 5 frustrations in order of importance in terms of which one you will focus on first. A tip here is to make your number one priority something that will have the biggest impact. You want to be fixing the biggest leaks and the squeakiest wheels before the drips and broken spokes.
Step 4: Identify the reason that this thing is frustrating you. You are looking for the cause here, to determine WHY something is not working. It’s simply not good enough to say it isn’t working, you need to know why so you can fix it.
Step 5: Reframe the problem you are experiencing into a system solution. If there are people or behaviours involved, take them out of the picture and shift your perspective into system solution mode.
Here’s an example to demonstrate: One of my biggest bug bears is that deadlines are continuously not met and it really frustrates me because I rely on having something completed by a certain time so that I can prepare for my meetings with clients. So, instead of blaming the people involved and thinking that they have failed me yet again, I look at it from a systems perspective and say “what has been the breakdown in this system that has allowed deadlines to be continuously missed”.
Looking at it from this vantage point, I can see that perhaps my communication of deadlines and the flow on effect of not meeting them has not been clear enough. I can then set about making adjustments to my communication system with my contractors, updating any associated documentation and ensuring that they are on board with the changes to the way we need to work in future.
With this approach, you have shifted your perspective from a “blame” paradigm to a “there has to be a system solution” paradigm. This will allow you to more effectively get things done, solve problems with ease and make faster decisions in your business.
